Who
Teaches these Classes?

– 5th grades for 4 years. Emily has also taught
adult watercolor classes and other private classes

rooms. Emily currently lives in Clinton NY with her

The
Art Room for kids was created …..
-
To give Kids an opportunity to learn more about
art in an organized, smaller class setting.
- At
The Art Room for kids we want to provide Kids with
a chance to work with the same type of materials
that an artist might use.
- We
want to help Kids create a piece of art that they
feel proud of.
- We
want to provide Kids with proper supervision so
that they can use a hot glue gun, or a hammer, safely.
- We
want our students to feel free to express their
creativity by offering them options.
- We
want Students to grow into people who have an appreciation
for Art by introducing them to the works of artists
past and present.
The
Art Room for kids Offers three styles of classes:
Art Club Grades 6, 7 & 8
Mini masters K - Grade 5
Young Explorer’s ages 3 & 4
Mommy and Me toddlers up to age 3
Mommy
and me classes are designed for toddlers or preschoolers
to explore the world of art with an adult.
Toddlers and preschoolers have a natural desire to
complete simple tasks, repeat simple steps, use their
5 senses and have new experiences. Mommy and Me classes
are designed to help Moms and toddlers to explore
their creative spirit together.
What
are some examples?
The first series of Mommy and Me classes explored
the theme
3-2-1 Blast Off!
Kids and Moms explored artworks that lift us from
the ground, such as:
- Henri
Matisse and The Fall of Icarus.
- Vincent
Van Gogh and The Starry Night
- Joan
Miro Woman Dancing with Bird and Moon
- Chuck
Close Portraits of People
The
kids made:
- salt
dough
- playdough
- capes
with stars and moons stamped on them.
I
don’t think my child will sit still!
Because toddlers are on the move, the class is designed
with just that in mind! We paint, draw, stick things
together, build, fold paper, dance, read, blow bubbles,
eat a snack, chat with other friends and at the end
of the class we walk away pleased to have connected
with our creative spirit…and with a nice piece
of art to show for it!
I
want my child to learn about art, but I can not draw!
Mommy and Me embraces the idea that you and your child
create art together.
Ideas are broken down into a series of simple steps
that can be fit together in order to take home a piece
of artwork and a delightful experience.
